Finding Out...& God's Goodness

I took this picture of the verse I happened to read the
morning after I found out I
was indeed pregnant! Words cannot describe
the joy in my heart, and the relief I felt
washing over me from the past year.
God is so good and I'm overwhelmed at
His love and blessing.
After months of trying and hearing from our
fertility doctor that this would be our "last chance"
to do the medication, I was honestly surprised.
You can read some about what was going on
last year here.
I had come to grips that this may never happen
to us, and was praying that God would show
me His will for us.
I had also just finished reading the book I had
purchased shortly after our
miscarriage that really helped me
delve through my emotion towards
God, my husband, myself and other people
through this path He has us on:
I would highly recommend this
Christian based book to any
of my friends/family going through
fertility challenges or
adoption loss.

Because of what happened just a few months
prior, I wanted to keep this one to myself
for now-I didn't even tell Jordan!
It was a special time with just me and God getting
to rejoice over what He was doing in my life and
the hope of what was to come.
This was one of the tests I took during that
"secret time" :)
I was about 3 weeks pregnant at this point...

I waited until right before our Valentines Date to test
again and possibly tell Jordan the news.
Since Valentines Day fell on a Monday,
we had made reservations to go out on the
Saturday prior. I was getting too impatient keeping
this huge secret! I ended up deciding to take
a Clearblue easy test. The digital one that says
Pregnant or Not Pregnant b/c they
require a higher level of hormones to detect.
My plan was if it said Pregnant, I would tell him...
I was SO excited!! I had never seen one of these before.
The validation just felt really good;)
Anyway, knowing Jordan's weird phobia of
"touching pee sticks" I went to Walgreens
and picked up a clear baby bottle that the test would
fit in. I then put it in a gift bag and waited until he got home.
I told him I had an early Valentine's Day gift to which
he replied: "Man, you're really starting to make me
feel bad b/c I didn't get you anything and you keep
giving me gifts" then I said "Well, this one is
different: I didn't buy it and you were invovled" :)
He then pulled out the bottle!
A smile from ear to ear went across his face.
He then asked me, "are you sure?" I of course
told him yes, and that I'd known for almost a week:)
We had a wonderful evening of rejoicing and joy
together and went out for our Valentines
Date the next evening to celebrate:)
We had reservations at the Houston Aquarium
for their special Valentines Dinner.
It was our little secret at this point, but we told the
waiter-that was fun! haha. It was a nice
evening of discussing the future, gleaning
from our past and preparing for the present.
I will never forget this evening:)
That Monday (Feb 13th) we had our Dr's Appt
that had been scheduled to find out if we were
pregnant. Right away when I saw the nurse
she knew;) After they tested me and
confirmed it, they took us in the  exam room
and our Doctor came in and congratulated us!
It was really neat. She let us know
we could come back in 2 weeks for
our first UltraSound-which we did on
Feb 27th. I was a day away from being
6 weeks and all you can see at this point
was the gestational sac, but still cool
to finally get to see something in there!;)
We are so grateful to God for this blessing. We
pray everyday and thank Him for His
provision in our lives and doing what was
best for us. Saying we're excited is an understatement,
and we can't wait to watch Baby Carl grow:)

THANK YOU so much for your prayers, your
support, your thoughts and encouraging
words through this journey-and we welcome
them still. And although its
far from over, we are happy to have started
this new chapter in our lives.

Our future Carl baby is due October 23rd, 2012.

Christmas Dates! 2012

Over the break my Christmas gift was getting to go on some
dates with my hubby! Now, that might seem like not a big deal
to you, but for us-getting to go on dates is huge!
Especially when he's in school, its just so difficult, and
for Christmas he got 3weeks off, so the first week we
spent together, the 2nd he went to Peru and
the 3rd we got to be together again:)
It was a great way to end/start the year before the
worst semester of our lives!! ;) haha

This was our first date before Christmas, he took
me on a private Carriage Ride through the Strand:)
We had hot chocolate too. It was so fun!
That's why we decided to go again when the
Carl's came a few days later.
 hot chocolate!

He took me to
Cheesecake Factory: yum yum!

got me some dulce de leche cheesecake:)

After we ate (we were at the Galleria Houston)
he took me to for some bday clothes shopping;
that was fun, maybe just for me though-ha:)

Another date we went on was ice skating!
Again, we had to go to Houston for this,
but it was really pretty!
The rink was jam packed, but it was
neat to skate outside!

It was Dec 26th, 7 years ago on this
day Jordan proposed! We got
to see this guy propose to this
girl on the same day:) How neat!
The next day Jordan left for Peru for the week
So it was nice to be together!

When he got back from Peru, we
went for ice cream and just
some fun on the seawall.

There was this one spot where all these
rock formations were that people had made,
it was kind of cool, so we decided to make one:

Jordan realizing ours didn't look so great.

Trying to get a picture of us with it...
kind of difficult...haha

This is the final product...
I wonder if its still there:)

Then we went out to eat!

There were a couple more dates we went on
that I forgot to take pictures of...
and there were some that we still
haven't done yet:) haha!
But either way, it was a great
time that we had together...one that
right now I am really missing!
Only 2 more months until he
takes the 1st board exam....
Thanks for reading!
