AF Parade

I can't believe its been 2 months since I have updated Jordan's Graduation Parade. Well, better late than never. The day after Jordan's graduation they had a Graduation parade. All of the graduates learned how to march correctly, and were presented as their last thing before being finished with Officer Training School.
Here are some pictures from that awesome day! (Although it was WAY hot in Alabama, let me tell you!)

After the parade we went in their 'flight room' and the Flight Commander gave out awards

'Outstanding Achievement' in Flight Contribution! =)

Taking some pictures afterwards outside with our graduate!

What a beautiful day!!!

The kiddo's wanted to see him in his ABU's, so we took some pics with them
back at the hotel=) They had their coordinating outfits!

We went out to eat at Five Guys Burgers and Fries. You can tell he is worn out!=)

My favorite picture:

Air Force Graduation Ceremony

Jordan went to Commissioned Officer Training in July. He left on June 28th, it was
hard to say goodbye to him for 5 weeks! But, it was good to see him on July 30th=)

This was Jordan's roomate Chris. Jordan and Chris actually
both received Distinguished Graduate in their Flight at COT!
Way to go you guys!!!

Here is Jordan's flight-the Golf Flight.
(no, they did not go golfing....every letter has a 'word associated' with it,
and G happens to be Golf)

Lt. Jordan Carl

Check out my studly husband=) I am so proud of him!!

Here are some pictures we took after the Graduation cermony:

After all the picture-taking Jordan went back to his dorm to change into
'Civilian clothing' and they were allowed to leave the base and go eat with their families!
I love this picture of him. He was at Maxwell Air Force Base, it was pretty:

We celebrated and got some hibachi that night! Jordan was glad to have 'normal food'
and not food from the mess hall anymore=)
It was a great evening!

Gabe and Emma were of course so proud and excited to see their big
brother!!!
after dinner he went back to Maxwell. The Graduation Parade was the next
morning! And then I would get my husband back=)

UNTHSC Graduation and Commission...

May 15th was Jordans graduation from UNTHSC with his Masters of Medical Science
It was a loooong ceremony, but worth the wait. Kinda funny story, I ran out
of batteries in my camera in the ceremony, so I ran out to the car to get more
then my shoe broke, so I got in the car and drove to a shoe boutique that
was like 1/2 a mile from the event (in fort worth area by TCU)
bought a pair of flip flops-went back to the graduation, ran
all the way from the far away parking lot and made it back in time before he
walked across the stage. Needless to say, I did take those shoes back (b/c I
had just bought them!!!) and I am still enjoying my
$25 flipflops!! lol.

With the graduate!!

Becca flew in from Kansas to be here!!
Hayden is obviously THRILLED!

For some reason my camera was shaky...boo! There he is though walking

waiting to walk

the coliseum I ran around
Becca, Hayden and Kelsey
after the graduation waiting to take some pictures and do the commissioning.
As you know from previous posts jordan has joined the Air Force
for Health Professions Scholarships-here he is getting commissioned as
an Officer into the Air Force by Lt. Morgan!!
It was neat to be there and get both of these things done on the same day!

Now he is Lt. Carl in the Air Force!

with his sisters!                     with his brother, Gabe     (my family was out of town=(

Proud Parents I'm sure!

with his recruiter, Sgt. Lochrie out front

pretty excited=) I couldn't be more proud!!!

we went to railhead to eat afterwards-here he is opening some cards/gifts

his AF coin

Finally back home....with his new diploma!! They get bigger apparently=)

It was a fun day, and so nice to have family together!!
I am so proud of Jordan completing an entire masters in one year-while working 2 part time
jobs, its really amazing. He has great dedication and works hard at
everything he does, I am excited to see what a great medical student he will
be and an absolutely fantastic doctor! 4 more years!!

Prologue to the Vaca...

I will say that I had been a little worried coming on this vacation. Why you might ask? Well, b/c the day before our plane was supposed to leave we found out that there was a hurricane coming for the Hawaiian islands. This was very devastating news, seeing as how we had planned this trip over a year ago, then we almost had to cancel b/c something came up with Jordan's school, but then we were able to re-schedule it for August, and THEN something else came up with Jordan's school and we had to cut the trip a day short....so we were obviously very excited that we had finally worked it out to be going and then we heard about this. I'm really not trying to have a 'pity party' here, I'm just telling you what has happened and my personal feelings on it.
This vacation is kind of a culmination of things for Jordan and I. It's 1st purpose is to serve as our honeymoon 'do-over' b/c our first one, in Playa del Carmen Mexico, was a disaster. While it was very gorgeous there and the weather was nice, I came down with a VERY bad 'bug virus' on the first night and was puking and 'other things' for 3 days straight...the worst sickness I've still to this day, ever had in my life. Then on the 3rd day, I was feeling better, and Jordan came down with it that night. He did the same things for 3 days while I took care of him. Then on the 7th day of our trip, we were both feeling better and we could do some things before we left to go home the next day....So, that was not much of a honeymoon at all. So this trip, is our 'honeymoon' to us.
The 2nd thing is is serving as, is our graduation (from college) gifts! We are both finally done with our undergrads and since we got married our sophomore years of college, it has been rather difficult and strenuous, so we are celebrating that.
And then lastly, it is our kind of 'retreat' time for each other, before this next chapter of our life starts. Jordan, as most of you know, is doing this Pre-Medical Masters program at UNTHSC in Fort Worth and it is like the 1st year of med school, so he will be incredibly busy and very wrapped up in that, and then this year we will be deciding on where he goes to Medical school for next fall. And all of that schooling and everything that goes with it will make our lives very different. We are excited for the change, and glad that it is finally coming, but with that come some different situations and responsibilities. So this trip is kind of like a pre-med school life kind of vacation=) haha.
Anyway, all that to say, there is a 'hurricane' supposed to be headed for the island that we are supposed to be doing all these wonderful things on! So far with the news they have said (thanks to everyone's wonderful prayers!) that the hurricane keeps slowing down and weakening. They keep pushing back the days that it is supposed to hit. It was first Mon, then Tue, and now its currently Wed. So we are very grateful for that!
We got here on saturday night, and upgraded our rental to a very fun convertable silver 2009 Ford Mustang!! It's a lot of fun and we've enjoyed riding around with the top down=)
Our room is super nice with a gorgeous bacony and view!! We have the nice pool right below our balcony and then the beach is BAM right there-sooo nice to hear the waves whenever you are in your room-such a peaceful sound. Here is the view from our room!

Anyway, I just wanted to write a little 'pre-blog' before I posted about our actual vacation and such. I will be doing that soon, with pictures-this place is GORGEOUS so you'll wanna see it=)

I have had SO many things going on in the last 5 days I don't know if I can fit it all in! Without this being too long, that is. We got the pleasure of leading worship at Real Life's Youth groups service wed night and it was a lot of fun!! Always good to see some old friends and play for that group. It is always a very worshipful experience for us, and we enjoy playing the 'louder' songs for the younger crowd=)
So for Jordan's Graduation, I thought I would just explain it with pictures. Since just the graduation had so many pictures, I will just post pics from that right now. I might add some more later, but I think these will be sufficient, its a little of everything I have from that day! Jordan's graduation went well, I couldn't be more proud! He starts graduate school for the Master Program in one week (what a summer right?) lol.
We were sooo glad that the Lander's came down to see his graduation and be here with us, even if it was only for 2 days.
I can't believe only 2 1/2 wks of school left!!! Its gone by so quickly. 9 days left!
I will post the rest of my weekend later.
Getting excited about Bella's show on Friday-interested in how that goes....
Ok, sorry this is random=) lots going on!!
thanks for reading=)
