6 Month Old Pics

On April 4th, 2013 Conrad turned 6 months old. At his 6 month well check he measured as follows:
Weight: 17.1 lbs
Height: 25 3/8th inches
FOC (head): 43.5"
Up until 6 months he was sleeping really well, still nursing 4-5 times a day and took his 6 months shots like a champ. He eats just a tiny bit of rice cereal only once a day. He loves to smile and laugh, and is working on sitting up. He still spits up a TON, and that's no joke. We are hoping it will get better soon...
I normally take these pictures with my camera, but sadly, I accidentally deleted them off my camera! Thankfully I always take a few on my phone, so I have some:/ We also took family bluebonnet photos and I deleted those too...tear:'(
Unfortunately, on Sunday, April 7th (just a few days after his 1/2 birthday)  Conrad and I were downstairs while I was holding him (facing out) and I tripped on the gliding rocker's ottoman in our living room. Rather than sending Conrad towards the coffee table (which is where I was headed) I had only 1/2 a second to decide what to do for him, because I was definitely going down. I had no other choice but to (as gently as I could) drop him on the carpet area before I fell into the table. There were no other places to drop him as I was cornered between the glider, coffee table, and the couch, which was too far away...After it happened, he of course immediately started crying. Jordan ran in the room to see what had happened, esp. since he heard me scream. He picked Conrad up and tried to console him. He calmed down after a few minutes and Jordan did a routine check on him, making sure his head was ok (that's what we were worried about) not thinking it could have been his leg. He landed face down flat on the carpet, so we just weren't sure. It was time for his nap, so we all laid down in our bed together, and fell asleep. About 45 min later we woke up and began playing with Conrad. We noticed right away he wasn't using or moving his right leg, only his left. We knew this was strange, and suspected maybe he had hurt his hip? But again, weren't sure. When Jordan started to check his leg/hip out, Conrad screamed out and started crying. We knew something was wrong, so we went immediately to the Dell Children's ER. We got there at 5:30pm......
At 10:30pm we were FINALLY seen by a doctor (yea, for real) in an exam room. They ordered x rays to confirm that he did in fact have a buckle break on his femur bone. Oh, what sad news this was! Its so  hard to know your child is hurt, and to see them have to go through something like that, in which you are helpless! They put his temporary cast on at the hospital and we had a follow up the next day. We finally got home form the ER at 5:30AM, yes, in the morning! Needless to say, Conrad (and Jordan and I) were completely exhausted. We were there so long simply because 1 its an ER, and 2, he is a baby that can't communicate and there were so many tests and xrays that had to be done since he had 1 broken bone. They even thought he had a crack on his skull, and had to do a CT scan, thankfully it was just an irregular suture line. That was a stressful as well! We are thankful his injury was minimal and that his healing time will be quick.
I have some pics below of him in the hospital:(
I will do a follow up post on his leg soon!

Here are the 6 month old traditional pics I always take. He actually has his cast on in this sleeper, and he's all smiles;)

Uh oh! he's starting to try and "roll" on the changing table. Gotta be extra careful these days!

Comparison picture from 1 month to 6 months! My little boy is growing too fast:)

At his 6 month well check on April 4th:)

This picture was taken on the way to the shot clinic on his 6month birthday, before he broke his leg:
(he looks like he knows what's coming...;)

This was taken at the ER at Dell Children's waiting to get his x rays...and no, they didn't have blue gowns, only purple! They also gave him a free paci and some "sweetease" to keep him from hurting too bad.

He was awesome at the ER...honestly. Here they are in the middle of the night putting his cast on, and he was just talkin and smiling (until we gave him the paci:) . He is such a good baby!

Morning after his temporary cast was on! Still smiling and enjoying life. His leg looked so huge in that thing!
