So, as I have been writing about for the past 6 months or so,
its finally here....the big TEST!!
Jordan's first Medical Board Exam (1 of 3)
The way it works:
After your 2nd year of medical school, you take the
1st board exam-then you start your clinical rotations
for 3rd and 4th year.
The test is an 8 hour computerized exam consisting of
322 multiple-choice questions, divided into
7 blocks each consisting of 46 questions.
Needless to say, its incredibly exhausting,
physically and mentally.
Jordan's test date was June 11th, which is also his Birthday!
(sounds fun, right?:)
The weekend before his test, he decided it best not
to study, and try to get some things done around the house-move
around, if you will, to take his mind off of it and prepare!
Me? I would have went shopping, or gotten a massage, mani-pedi, etc
What does he do?
Here's a few examples:
yard work-lots of it!
And organizing/working in the garage:
(side note...he got this tool chest Christmas of 2003-and its
the first time he's had his own garage to use it! yay:)
We went to see Promethius!! (It was actually really good)
I decided to give him his Birthday gifts early so he could continue
working on his garage:)
About to open his presents from me;)
A hose, a gift card to home depot,
a workbench for the garage and a shelving unit
(shown below)
It looks so good in here now!!! He got a 2nd shelving
unit from my family, so that completed the set. I love his
new work space, I'm so happy for him to finally have it, and
he is definitely excited as well!
The morning of the test/Birthday!!
Yummy blueberry pancakes, bacon and eggs-hopefully it will
help him "think" :)
I don't know what that smile is about...
8 hours later, he came home from the test. He was so glad
to have this part of his career over with and ready to feel
the weight lifted!! We went out to his favorite
restaurant (Outback) for his Birthday and celebration
dinner!! So happy to have my husband back;)
The next morning we work up, and went to breakfast together
at one of our favorite places: Einstein Bagel Bros!!
Look at that scrumptious food, oh my!
That same afternoon we drove to Dallas. Jordan's sister,
Becca and her family were traveling back to Kansas the next
day, so we only had that one day for Jordan to get to
see them before he left.
Arriving in Dallas:
Celebrating Jordan's and Becca's Birthdays (only 4 days apart!)
at the Carls house:
Jordan was so happy to see his nieces and nephews (and brother and sisters!)
Grace in the kiddie pool! Jayce and Gabe havin a good time;)
their new pool is so pretty!
Jordan wasn't used to moving around all day from all the studying the past
6 months..I think he was getting tired.
Nana and little Lileigh!
Jordan with his Grandpa!
Getting to see Jackson for the 1st time!! Proud Uncle!
The "older" men of the family;)
Grandpa, Dad, Jordan and Jeff
Hayden and Daniel;) Gabe and his big bro!
Baby gifts from the Lowery's! She was going to be in WA during the
shower at the Carls next month. Such cute stuff!! Thank you:)
Cake time!! Blowing out the candles;)
27 and 31!!
We went to the Rangers Game-finally!!
We SO miss this about Dallas:)
Gabe and his Dad happened to be there too-
Sitting with my family:
with my boo.
When we got back home (the next day!) it was time for
Jordan to get to work on his "honey-do list"...
Hanging the shelves in my office:
BEFORE:
AFTER!
Painting the wooden DVD holder-feels good to unpack those boxes!
(given to us by the Carls-such a neat piece:)
We went out to eat that night at the Hula Hut on
Lake Austin. It was really pretty, but unfortunately
we were both too hot to enjoy it:/
We went on a hike on Lake Georgetown-it was so gorgeous!!
We can't wait until Conrad comes and we can take him too;)
22.5 weeks!!
Isn't this lake gorgeous?
Jordan scaring me...
Eating out in Austin:
On Lake Travis:)
Beautiful scenery!
Excited for the next chapter in our lives!!!
(He also worked on the nursery this week-I will post about that soon!!)
